Dewsbury Rams can now reveal their first new signing for the 2021 season. Bayley Liu has signed a one year deal with the club.
The New Zealand born and Samoan heritage utility player will join up with Lee Greenwood’s men for the new Betfred Championship season.
Standing at 6ft’2inch tall, the proud Samoan is an imposing player on the pitch. A hard running centre who can smash through opponents with ease.
Liu played his junior rugby in Australia and New South Wales. He then went to the Central Queensland Capras where he progressed through the age groups from under 16 level to the first team.
At the beginning of the curtailed 2020 season he moved to the UK and signed for the West Wales Raiders. However head coach Lee Greenwood has seen enough potential in the 24 year old to sign him up to the Rams for the 2021 Campaign.
On signing Liu, Greenwood commented: “Bayley wanted to move up North and progress in the game in this country.
“Having done some homework and speaking to him, I was more than happy to give him the opportunity to prove himself.
“He has the ability and size to do well for us and can play in a few positions. I look forward to working with him in November.”
There will be an exclusive interview with Bayley on the website tomorrow.
