The club recently confirmed the re-signing of fullback Joe Martin.
The former Fax man has become a fans favourite as his dependable performances on the pitch have been to a high standard.
On him signing a new deal at the Rams, Martin said: “I am really enjoying it, I have had chance to cement a spot and I am grateful for that. I just want to keep working hard and hopefully seeing myself improve.”
The Rams started the curtailed 2020 season off well, winning four out of their first six fixtures. Supporters could see a real bond had started to develop in the squad. Martin spoke about that tight group feeling.
He said: “We started really well in 2020 and had a tight group, I feel we can surprise a few folk this year, and so I really wanted to see what we could do, the lads are first class too!
“I am looking forward to training, and seeing the boys is always good. People clicked from the first session so we have all been enjoying it, I think that showed in the performances we were putting in during the 2020 season.”
Martin believes that the beginning of the 2020 campaign showed just what the Rams can deliver when on song. He doesn’t expect that to be different and will be giving everything going in to the start of the 2021 campaign.
“Like I said, we have a chance to impress if the start of 2020 is something to go by. We are looking forward to getting back now and cracking on.”
Finally Martin spoke about the fantastic Rams supporters who he knows will once again be cheering on their heroes on the pitch.
“I’d say thanks for the support so far but do comeback for 2021 and help us get the good times rolling!
“I look forward to seeing them all when we can UTR.”
