Getting to know… Davey Dixon

Davey Dixon was a new addition to Lee Greenwood’s Rams squad ahead of the 2020 season.

Arriving from Keighley, Dixon is a Scotland international and follows fellow winger Andy Gabriel in making the switch from Cougar Park.

After having made an impressive start to life at Dewsbury, we spoke with Davey to learn a little more about what makes him tick.

“Watching my dad play.”

What do you remember about your Championship debut?

“Dewsbury against Leigh was the game where I finally got my Championship debut. It has been a big goal of mine for a while and, even though I didn’t play long, it was a big achievement stepping up from League 1. I was very nervous before the game but once I got out there all the nerves went away.”

Have you always wanted to become a Rugby League player?

Football, golf and snooker.”

“Seafood – can’t stand it.”

What’s your favourite place to travel?

“Australia, because of the weather, rugby, and places to see, I’ve been once before and definitely will be going back.”
