Dewsbury Rams centre Matty Fleming says he couldn’t have settled into life at the Rams any better.
The former Super League player is so far loving life at the Tetley’s Stadium.
He said: “I don’t think I could have settled in any better to be honest. From all the players, coaches and staff around the club they have all made me feel at home from day one.”
This weekend the Rams face Widnes live on the Our League app at 6.15pm. Fleming knows it will be a tough test but is confident that the team can once again put on a positive performance.
“Yes Widnes are a good team and they have a lot of experience throughout the side which will make it difficult for us but it will be a good test for us.
“The team is very confident after such a great win at Halifax and after a good performance against Leigh we thought we were better than the scoreline showed.
“So yes we are confident for this game and for the whole season.”
The Rams have had an unfortunate run in with a few storms lately as the weather has affected three of the club’s fixtures causing postponements. However Fleming believe’s that whilst the rough first few weeks have been annoying it certainly hasn’t dampened the players spirits and that they are ready to give Widnes a good game on Sunday.
He said: “I wouldn’t say it has affected us really. Yes it’s a bit annoying but we are just focusing on the things we can control at the minute.”
Finally Fleming is excited at the prospect of once again playing in front of the club’s home fans this Sunday.
“Yes I can’t wait to get back playing at home. Our fans have been amazing so far this season at home and away.
“It really does help when they get behind us like they do!”
