Rams head coach Neil Kelly says his players should feel “full of confidence” ahead of Sunday’s trip to Barrow.
But he he has warned his squad that anything less than a tough physical and mental effort will see them come up short.
Dewsbury make the trip in good form, having won three out of their opening four games.
Barrow sit eighth in the table, but have turned heads with a victory over Leigh and draw against Toronto.
“This team going up to Barrow should be full of confidence after the start we have had,” said Kelly.
“We know, though, that it is going to be a tough game against them and we know that we’ll have to be at our best to beat them.
“It probably isn’t going to be a nice pitch up there; very rarely do you go up to a Cumbrian side and they have a nice flat pitch.
“That will make the game even tougher for us and we need to be mentally ready to go up there and get the job done.
“We won’t come back with the points if we don’t work hard because they’ll be doing all they can to snatch whatever points they can get off anyone.
“They’ve already taken points off two of the more fancied sides in the division in Toronto and Leigh, so we can’t go there thinking this game will be a walk in the park, because it just won’t be.”
The Rams warmed up for the trip to Barrow with a 20-0 victory over Swinton Lions and Kelly’s side now have the best defensive record in the competition.
“I think it’s a good start, I always thought that we had three wins in the first four games in us,” said the Rams boss.
“However, doing it is a lot harder than just thinking you’ve got it to do.
“But the players deserve a lot of credit for what they have done so far; they’ve done really well and it’s nice to be seeing all the teams down the table and not up it.”
