SOUTH STAND UPDATE

We would like to issue the following update on the Mike Stephenson MBE (South) Stand for the remainder of the 2024 season.

As discussed during the pre-season Fans Forum, the club has monitored the usage of the Mike Stephenson MBE (South) Stand so far this season. While attendances at the higher profile games have been good and warranted the opening of the whole ground, there has been others where we perhaps could have closed that stand but chose to keep it open and available for all.

However, looking forward at the remaining four home games and the projected attendances for those games we don’t think that it warrants the opening of the whole stadium and therefore only the North Stand and Beaumont Terrace will be open for these games.

Apart from the obvious savings on staff and stewarding costs, we also think that the concentration of spectators into a smaller area will generate more atmosphere for the game which the players do appreciate and prefer to play in.

We will monitor attendances on a game by game basis and should there be a likely reason to reopen the stand for any of these games then we will do so.
