BECKETT TO DEPART RAMS IN SWAP DEAL

We can today confirm that Jimmy Beckett joined Featherstone Rovers with immediate effect as part of a swap deal.

Twenty-four-year old Beckett has been a stand out performer for the club since his arrival in 2021 and had already agreed to join Rovers for the 2025 season but will now join up with Featherstone ahead of this season’s transfer deadline.

While not ideal from a club point of view, we felt that Jimmy has given such tremendous commitment and effort to the cause during his time with us, that it was fair to reward him with a move now that was due to happen at the end of the season.

We don’t think any Rams’ fans could fault his effort and we’re sure Featherstone supporters will see how well he has developed as a player during his time with us.

In total, Jimmy made eighty appearances, scoring seven tries and was made club captain ahead of the 2024 season, we would like to wish him all the best in his move.

Coming to the Rams in the opposite direction are Featherstone forwards Keenen Tomlinson and Zeus Silk, both initially until the end of this season.

Tomlinson is a familiar name with Rams fans having been with the club for the 2021 and 2022 seasons, making thirty-two appearances and scoring four tries. He spent last season with Keighley Cougars before moving to Featherstone for 2024.

Silk is a former Hull FC academy player who was a leading light in the National Conference with West Hull, before being lured to the professional game by Featherstone. The twenty-six-year-old also appeared for York Knights on loan from Hull before moving to West Hull to combine playing with his work commitments.

As a part of the deal, we will also play a pre-season friendly in 2025 against Featherstone, where we will have the benefit of the gate receipts from the game.

We would like to thank Featherstone for the way that they have worked with us on these deals as well as the help they gave us when Jimmy was first made available to our club.
