RAMS SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT

The line-up for the Rugby League Schools Festival taking place at the Tetley’s Stadium this Friday is now complete!

The Rugby League Schools Festival taking place this Friday, will feature teams from Bywell Junior School, Orchard Primary Academy, St Paulinus, Boothroyd, West Moor, Ravensthorpe, Holy Spirit and Mill Lane. The eight teams will be split into two groups and each school will carry the name of a team participating in this year’s Rugby League World Cup with activities based on their country taking place during the day.

The games will take place on the pitch at the Tetley’s Stadium and will give the players a real experience of playing the sport in the stadium of a professional club. Roger the Ram will be leading a warm-up before the games commence and will be there throughout the day.

Each player will receive a commemorative medal for taking part and a ticket for Sunday’s game against Leigh Centurions. The winning team will be presented with the first-ever Rugby League School Festival Trophy and also be invited to parade the cup during half-time of Sunday’s game.

The tournament has been made possible through the joint efforts of staff at Dewsbury Rams, Kirklees Everybody Active Team and Kirklees Council.
