MARCH JOINS AS ASSISTANT COACH
We are delighted to welcome Paul March to the club as our new Assistant Coach for 2024. The forty-four-year-old joins the coaching team at FLAIR Stadium alongside Head Coach Dale Ferguson and Assistant Coach Conor Turner. March has a wealth of experience in rugby league playing over four hundred first-class games during a nineteen-year career which included spells at Super League sides Huddersfield Giants and Wakefield Trinity. In 2008, he took up his first coaching position as Player-Coach at York Knights before moving to Hunslet and then Keighley Cougars where he won promotion in 2010 and the iPro Sport Cup […]
LAWRENCE DEPARTS RAMS
We can today confirm that Nathan Lawrence has left the club for personal reasons. The twenty-eight-year old who originally joined the club on trial from Ossett RUFC, impressed enough to earn in contract in November but has now decided to leave the club. On behalf of everybody at the club we would like to thank Nathan for his efforts during his time here and wish him all the best for the future.

Rams exit Betfred Challenge Cup after late defeat against York Knights at FLAIR Stadium. Following on from last week’s AB Sundecks 1895 Cup defeat at the hands of Bradford, the Rams were back in cup action, this time Round 3 of the Betfred Challenge Cup against York Knights. It was a competitive start to the game with the Rams having plenty of pressure on the Knights line but it was Taylor Pemberton who scored the first points of the game from the boot for the visitors after a penalty was awarded for offside. A new advertising board, donated by the club, will be on display which features CLEAR Men’s Talk – a theatre project for men who have experienced mental health issues. BETFRED CHAMPIONSHIP AND LEAGUE ONE RESTRUCTURE
Ahead of the start of the Betfred Championship season in Sheffield and Wakefield this Friday night, the Championship and League One clubs have had confirmation of a managed transition of the competition structure below Super League over the next two seasons, to produce two divisions of 12 clubs from 2026. Following a detailed six-month review involving all Tier Two and Three clubs alongside the RFL executive, the Betfred Championship will become a 13-team division for one season only in 2025, with League One expanding to become at least 10 teams – and applications to be invited for an 11th (for full […]
