DEWSBURY RAMS AND HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS ANNOUNCE EXCITING NEW PARTNERSHIP AT THE FLAIR STADIUM

Dewsbury Rams and Huddersfield Giants are thrilled to announce a new partnership that will see the Giants relocate to the Flair Stadium from the 2027 season onwards.

Announced during today’s Giants fixture against the Catalans Dragons, the move is set to transform the Flair Stadium into a premier Rugby League venue. Subject to RFL board approval, the Giants plan to invest a projected £10 million+ into the facility, driving a monumental redevelopment that will benefit both historic clubs. The stadium will become a fully dual-branded home for both the Rams and the Giants, featuring a range of major upgrades. These include the construction of a brand-new stand, revamped fan zones with new food and drink outlets, upgraded hospitality suites and function rooms, alongside upgraded and additional player changing rooms, and new press and media facilities.

Rams’ Chairman and Owner, Mark Sawyer, said of the agreement: “This marks the dawn of an incredibly exciting new era for the Dewsbury Rams.”
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome the Huddersfield Giants to the Flair Stadium, transforming our home into a premier venue that will proudly host both Super League and Championship rugby. Our clubs have built strong relationship on and off the pitch for years, and after months of positive discussions, we have secured a future where both teams will truly flourish.”
“I want to extend a massive thank you to the Davy family for their unwavering dedication to ensuring Rugby League thrives in Kirklees. We cannot wait to see this vision come to life and provide our fans with a first-class facility on a true Rugby League ground.”

Ken Davy OBE also spoke on the decision: “It’s no secret that as a club, we’ve struggled to find a home. We were forced to move from Fartown, from Leeds Road, and now from the Accu Stadium. But the Huddersfield Giants will not retreat. We will not compromise or quietly shuffle into the shadows.

“While we remain the Huddersfield Giants, I am proud to announce that our stage for the 2027 season and beyond is Dewsbury. The Flair Stadium is the perfect location for us; it has the right capacity and facilities for the Giants and its fans to thrive while we continue the search for our permanent home. Our one giant future starts now.”

Ralph Rimmer OBE, Executive Chairman of the Huddersfield Giants, added: “The Flair Stadium will already be a familiar setting for many, having staged Giants Super League fixtures against Wigan Warriors in 2025 and Toulouse Olympique in 2026, alongside a few Giants Academy and Scholarship matches this summer.

“We will keep our supporters informed as this new chapter unfolds. The journey toward 2027 begins now,

“We look forward to welcoming an incredible new era of Rugby League at the Flair Stadium.”
