Well that’s the first round of the Betfred Championship done and dusted. What have we discovered after last weekends results? We can safely say we can expect Leigh Centurions and Featherstone Rovers to be the front runners after convincing wins on their travels. The London Broncos found the going rough against a determined Bradford Bulls side, the Londoners just doing enough to win in the end. Dewsbury Rams head coach Lee Greenwood insists that the scoreline shown on Friday night didn’t mirror the actual game and effort his team put in. The Rams were defeated by the Leigh Centurions 36-10 on Friday night, the Rams put in a fantastic effort against a side that is hot favourites for promotion. On the game he said: “I was disappointed with the scoreline, I thought it was a closer game than what the 10-36 score showed. Rams host 3rd Round Challenge Cup tie
Dewsbury Rams will play host to the 3rd round Challenge Cup tie between Thornhill Trojans and Doncaster. The Trojans have done spectacularly well to get to this stage of the competition. The tie will take place on Saturday 8th February with a 2pm kick off. Only the North Stand- (seated) will be open for the fixture. Only turnstile 3 and 4 will be open. Matty Gee arives on Dual-Reg from Hull KR
Dewsbury Rams can confirm that Hull KR second rower/loose forward Matty Gee has joined the club on dual-registration. The 25 year old has played at the highest level of the game in Betfred Super League for the London Broncos. Having signed for Hull KR at the start of this season, Gee has arrived at the Tetley’s Stadium to get game time. He started his career at Super League side the Salford Red Devils.
