Roger Ram runs in race in the RunForJo event

Dewsbury Rams mascot Roger Ram has taken part in the 2019 RunForJo event which has also happened the last couple of years and has become a big event in the local area.

The RunForJo event is now a staple event locally and was inspired by the MP Jo Cox who sadly was tragically killed in 2016. The RunForJo event is a brilliant event and is one the local people of Kirklees and further a field are proud to take part in.

RunForJo organising co-ordinator Caroline Jones said of the event that took place on the 23rd June at Oakwell Hall: “The RunForJo race is a key local event which forms part of The Great Get Together, a weekend of national events taking place all over the country, inspired by Jo Cox.

“The RunForJo is a fantastic event which gets bigger and better every year, and it was amazing to have such great support from a wide range of mascots in the ever-popular RunForJo Mascot Race, including Roger from Dewsbury Rams.

“The RunForJo is a great way for our communities to come together in unity and to celebrate all that we have in common and to make happy memories for those who come along; and what better way than watching your favourite club mascot RunForJo. On behalf of Jo’s family, I would like to thank Dewsbury Rams for their continued support.”

Steven Downes Dewsbury Rams media manager added: “It is great that Roger was able once again to go along and support the event on behalf of the club. It is an important local event and it is one that Dewsbury Rams is proud to be associated with. We hope the race and event passed with great success and we look forward to Roger taking part next year.”
