Greenwood reviews Leigh defeat

Dewsbury Rams head coach Lee Greenwood has reacted to his sides 34-12 defeat on Easter Monday.

He said of the loss: “It was disappointing as in we don’t like losing, we are looking at teams on a different level. We are where we are in the league table and that is our battle.

“We obviously know we can pick up the odd result like we did against Featherstone. However these are tough places to come for teams like us at the stage we are at, at the moment.

“I would say the effort was there and we did quite a lot of defending in our own half. However quality performance wise it was low with the amount of drop balls, we did allow Leigh to attack us on our line quite a lot. It took a lot out of us and you are probably looking at two level of teams at the moment.

“Leigh are a good side and when you play these teams who are looking to be at the top of the table they will throw plenty of attacks at you.

“All the games are tough but they are different types of tough, so when you play Leigh, Widnes and Toulouse it’s not easy and you will be underdogs. When you go into these games you need to be right on it and with the amount of mistakes we made we weren’t on it.”
