Greenwood on 2019 fixtures

Dewsbury Rams offically announced their 2019 fixtures on Sunday evening, and now head coach Lee Greenwood has spoke exclusivley to the Rams website to give his reaction.

The Rams are kicking off their 2019 fixtures with an away trip to Rochdale, before playing York City Knights in Dewsbury’s first home game of the campaign. It will be the first time many of our supporters will have seen some of the new faces that Greenwood has brought into the club. We want to see as many fans down at the Tetley’s stadium as possible for the fixture.

On how the fixtures have shaped up for the Rams, Greenwood said: “Once the fixtures are released it all feels a bit more ‘real.’ It doesn’t bother me what order we play everyone in to be honest, we have to play them all at some point.

“I’m looking forward to all of our home games and hopefully making our ground a very difficult place to come and get a win.”

As well as giving reaction to the newly released fixtures, Lee also gave an update on how things were going in pre-season.

He commented: “We’ve completed our first week of training, as is the same everywhere, some lads come back in better physical shape than others so it’s hard to predict anything this early.

“There is a lot of potential in the squad but that’s all it is at the moment, potential. We don’t have many old heads in there but on the other hand 95% of the squad have yet to reach their peak.

“I’m already looking forward to seeing all the lads in the friendlies but there’s a good few weeks of hard work to be done before them.”
