Richardson reacts to Leigh win

Dewsbury Rams player Tobias Richardson has spoken exclusively to the Rams website.

The local lad was involved in the Rams last day victory over Leigh Centurions last Sunday.

On the win he said: “It was great to end the year with a win with some lads moving on to different clubs & some hanging their boots up for good.

“It was just a good way to end the season I suppose.”

The game signaled head coach Neil Kelly’s final game in charge at the club. Richardson believes both Kelly and assistant Paul Delaney will be missed.

Richardson continued: “Neil has been a good servant to the club over the last 18 months and I think he will be sorely missed by a fair few folk.

“I’ve only been at the club a short while but I wish him & Paul all the best in whatever they choose to do next.”

The former Dewsbury Moor player has made an impression at the club since arriving at the Rams earlier this year.

On his own performances this year and going into 2019, Richardson said: “I would like to think I’ve gone well when on the field, obviously there’s lots of room for improvement I just want to progress week in week out & hopefully I will be able compete confidently come next season.

“With only playing 6 or 7 games I don’t personally think I’ve proved anything just yet, I just try to do what I can with the best of my ability.

“However of course with whoever the new coach may be I’ve just got to work hard in training & it’ll be a new challenge for everyone and I can’t wait to get started in pre season.”

Finally Richardson praised the Rams fans for the support he has been given since arriving at the club.

He commented: “It’s been great to be honest the fans have been really welcoming & I am sure a lot of the lads can say the same.”
