Rams BHF collection success and continuation

Dewsbury Rams had a collection for the British Heart Foundation against Barrow Raiders on the 9th September.

The Rams won the game off the pitch as well as on it, as the club collected one and half bins full of old clothing, bedding and bags to donate to the British Heart Foundation.

The feature image shows player Lucas Walshaw holding two BHF bags up full to the brim of items that had been donated.

Dewsbury Rams Media Manager Steven Downes said on the success of the scheme: “The British Heart Foundation is a charity that is closely connected to the game of Rugby League and when the club were asked if they could help to collect unwanted items, naturally we jumped at the chance.

“Both the Rams fans and Barrow fans donated a lot of items and the club is thankful for their generous contribution to the collection.”

The partnership between the club and the foundation will continue at the final game of the season against the Leigh Centurions.

Downes continued: “After the success of the collection against Barrow the club has agreed to continue the scheme going into the Leigh game. Once again their will be two British Heart Foundation bins at either side of the ground for people to put their unwanted items in.

“We are hoping to beat what we collected at the game against Barrow, and if we can beat that it would be brilliant. We would like to encourage any Rams or Leigh supporters to bring their unwanted items to the ground on game day on 30th September.”
