Dewsbury Celtic’s hopes of climbing into the National Conference League Division Three play-offs were ended by defeat away at Barrow Island on Saturday.

Celtic now trail sixth-placed Eastmoor Dragons by four points with just one game remaining after going down 26-6 in Cumbria.

In Division One, tries from Danny Ratcliffe and Anthony Harris were in vain as league champions Thornhill Trojans suffered a 24-12 defeat away at York Acorn.

Shaw Cross suffered a disappointing 72-16 defeat to a Featherstone Lions side still chasing promotion.

There was a more positive result in Division Two, where Dewsbury Moor ran out 56-6 winners against Leigh East, a week after sealing promotion to Division One.

Aiden Ineson led the rout with a hat-trick, Jordan Foster, Jacob Flathers and James Delaney grabbed braces, and Dominic Horn and Thomas Kaye also crossed.

Ineson kicked six goals to finish the afternoon with 24 points.
