Ryder looks ahead to Barrow game

Dewsbury Rams centre Adam Ryder is looking forward to the home game on Sunday against Barrow Raiders.

Ryder knows that it will not be easy on Sunday however he wants to be on the right side of the result when the Cumbrian club walk in to town.

On the fixture Ryder said: “Barrow are always a tough team to play against, I don’t think anybody looks forward to playing them. You know they’ll come with big strong forwards who play direct, but it’s a home game against a team around us so nothing less than a win is good enough.

“It would be good to string some wins together for the end of the season. Finish strong and hopefully carry some momentum into next year.

“The higher the club finishes the more money the club gets and that’s good for everyone.”

The Rams were victorious last time out beating Sheffield 30-20 in the steel city.

On that win Ryder commented: “It was very good to get a win away at Sheffield. It’s a tough place to go, you have to make your own atmosphere.

“It showed we’re a good side and we’re moving in the right direction with us losing there 4-5 weeks ago.”

Ryder was one of the try scorers on the Friday night, and he insists he’s enjoying the fact he is getting on the score sheet.

“I am very happy about scoring another try. I scored a few for Keighley this season so I’m glad I’ve been able to step up a league, keep doing it and helping the team out.”
