Toulouse 44-18 Rams

It was an interesting last game of the regular season in the Betfred Championship.

Both clubs wanted the points to go a step closer to achieving their targets for the campaign. It was Toulouse who eventually came out on top.

It was the home side who made the better start and scored the first try of the afternoon on the fourth minute. Chris Centroe went through a gap in the Rams defence to score. Mark Kheirallah missed his first conversion kick to put the score at 4-0 to Toulouse.

Centroe went over the whitewash again just four minutes later to grab his second of the day. Again Kheirallah missed his conversion attempt.

The French side had made a quick start and by the 21st minute they were 12-0 up. Kheirallah again missed his conversion attempt.

At this point Dewsbury started to really fight back. James Glover dived over the line to score the first Rams try, Paul Sykes was on hand to kick for the extra two points.

The Rams drew level on the 31st minute when Glover again went over the whitewash. Sykes successfully added the two points to put the score at 12-12.

A stunned Toulouse edged back in front when Kheirallah kicked a penalty for two points on the hooter, giving a half time score of 14-12 to Toulouse.

The French side roared out of the blocks early on in the second half. They scored their next try on the 45th minute. Sébastien Planas was the player to score, Kheirallah converted the kick to make it 20-12 to Toulouse.

The Rams were not down and out though. Aaron Brown crashed over the line in the 52nd minute. Sykes converted his kick to put the Rams within two points.

From there on in the French side took control. Max Puech grabbed their next try on the 56th minute, Kheirallah converted his kick to take the score to 26-18 to Toulouse.

Two more tries followed in quick succession. Firstly Chris Centroe went over to get his hat-trick and then Anthony Marion dived over the line in the 61st minute to score. Kheirallah converted both his kicks to put the score at 38-18.

The final try of the game was scored by Paul Marcon two minutes to the end of the game. Kheirallah converted his kick to make the final score 44-18 to Toulouse.

Whilst the Rams put in a spirited and proud display it was Toulouse who came out the victors.
