There were mixed fortunes for our local National Conference League sides this past weekend.
In Division One, Thornhill Trojans kept up the pressure on Lock Lane at the top of the table with a 31-16 victory away at Featherstone Lions.
Joel Gibson scored two tries, while James Craven, Danny Ratcliffe and Nicholas Mitchell also crossed the line.
Gibson kicked five conversions and added a drop-goal.
Shaw Cross Sharks were unable to add to last week’s win away at Lock Lane, but showed plenty of spirit in defeat.
Danny Grainger scored a brace, while Brandon French also grabbed four points, as the Sharks notched three tries to the hosts’ five.
But Lock Lane converted all of their tries, while Shaw Cross were unable to add any extras, which meant the home side emerged 30-12 winners.
In Division Two, George Croisdale and Aiden Ineson both grabbed doubles, while Jacob Flathers, Bradley Samme, Luke Adamson, Archie Bruce, Brad Adams and Toby Richardson also scored tries as Dewsbury Moor romped home against Hull Dockers.
Ineson added six conversions as Moor emerged 52-10 winners.
Finally, in Division Three, Dewsbury Celtic fell to a 16-0 defeat away at Woolston Rovers.
