Hanging Heaton have been confirmed Pennine League Division 2 West Champions, following Greetland All Rounders’ defeat to Moldgreen. The team have won 12 of their 14 fixtures and drawn the other 2.

The league winners will be aiming to make it a double when they face Wyke in Pennine League Cup Final in three weeks, after their Semi-Final win over Underbank Rangers on Saturday.

There were mixed fortunes for the town’s other community sides this past weekend.

Thornhill Trojans were 32-30 winners away at Lock Lane in Division One, but Shaw Cross Sharks were beaten 30-20 away at Oulton Raiders.

There was defeat, too, for Dewsbury Moor, who went down 36-12 away at Askam in Division Two.
