Shaw Cross Sharks and Thornhill Trojans both tasted Cup victory this past weekend.

The Sharks recorded an 18-0 victory over Beverley in their Ladbrokes Challenge Cup round one fixture, which was postponed last week due to bad weather.

The Dewsbury side crossed for three tries in the first half and produced a great defensive performance to progress.

They will travel to face Oulton Raiders in round two.

Meanwhile, Thornhill were 20-10 winners away at Orrell St James in the second round of the National Cup.

Will Gledhill scored a hat-trick and Anthony Harris also grabbed a try, while George Woodcock kicked two conversions.

The Trojans face West Hull or Sharlston Rovers in the quarter-finals.
